Youth trying to avoid pothole hit by bus, dies, mom in serious condition

THRISSUR: A 22-year-old boy was killed after a bus rammed his scooter while he was trying to swerve his vehicle to avoid a pothole. He came under the bus after trying to veer his scooter to avoid a pothole on Thrissur MG Road. The youth has been identified as Vishnu Dutt of Udaya Nagar. He was an employee of Seetharam Pharmacy in Thrissur.

Vishnu Dutt’s mother Padmini (60), who was pillion riding has been hospitalized with serious injuries. She remains to be critical. The bus that was behind rammed on to them while Vishnu tried to veer the scooter to avoid falling into the pothole. Though the two were taken to the hospital, his life could not be saved. The accident happened when they were returning home from Vadakkumnathan Temple. His body is kept in Thrissur Medical College Hospital.

The people are waging protests soon after the accident happened. The opposition leader and councilors of the corporation protested by sitting on the road. The police tried to remove them away, but to no avail. They are protesting against the mayor. The Congress alleged that the negligence of the corporation led to the death of the youth. The protest was after completely blocking the road. Finally, the police removed the protesters from the spot with great effort. The BJP also protested.
