MALAPPURAM: UDF convener Adoor Prakash has asked P V Anvar to correct his stance in Nilambur by-election. It is the Congress movement that decides who the Congress candidate should be. There should be no doubt about it. While talking to a media, he said Anvar is attacking opposition leader V D Satheesan.

Meantime, Anvar will clarify his stand today on whether he will contest the Nilambur by-election. Anwar has decided to contest if the UDF does not make him an ally.

Trinamool Congress chief coordinator Saji Manjakadambil responded that they do not want associated membership in the UDF and should be included as an ally. He said Anvar will contest the election and win if the UDF is not ready to induct him in the UDF.

LDF is likely to announce its candidate today. The announcement will be made after the CPM state secretariat. A decision will be taken after discussing whether to field an independent candidate or a candidate on party symbol.

Nilambur District Hospital Superintendent Dr Shinas Babu and CPM state secretariat member M Swaraj are among the names being heard in the candidates’ list.
