KOTTAYAM: Vishruthan, husband of Bindu, who died in the Kottayam Medical College building collapse, said that no one should face such a tragedy tomorrow. He said that if a search had been conducted immediately after the accident, his wife might have been found alive.

He said that his son recently got a job in a firm in Ernakulam. He got his first salary yesterday and wanted to hand it over to his mother. He added that none of the ministers called him so far.

'No one should face such a situation tomorrow. Everyone should find a solution to this. My wife was everything to me. I am sick and has no work. She was also sick. She was with me till 10 am. After that, she lost her life.

Sir, I have a huge debt. I am completely devastated. When the accident happened, I ran in panic. My daughter and wife were missing. I searched for them. Patients in the ward found my daughter.

If they had started a searched then, Bindu would have been found alive. The authorities lied that the building collapsed was not of use. They said that to make it look like that there was no lapse on the part of the hospital.

We have lost everything. The lives of our two children have become difficult. My wife was managing our family affairs. Bindu sent my daughter for nursing. She spent money and also arranged a loan for her. She gets Rs 300 daily. She goes by auto as she has some issues on her leg. She has to spend Rs 50 daily for that. Everything was done on an income of Rs 250,' said Vishruthan.
