NILAMBUR: P V Anvar said that he will wait for one more day to announce the candidature for the Nilambur bypolls. Anvar said that he will not make the announcement today as UDF leaders and other communal leaders have requested him to do so. Anvar said this at the press meet convened here Friday morning to make the announcement regarding his candidacy.
'Leaders including P K Kunhalikutty have asked him to wait for a while. When they say this, has to listen them. There is a meeting of Trinamool Congress today. All these things will be discussed in it,’ said P V Anvar.
Anvar had the other day said that there will be no more discussions without making him an ally in the UDF. Anvar decided to wait for one more day in the context of the UDF meeting being held today. Congress leaders including opposition leader V D Satheesan are of the view that Anvar should first declare support for the UDF candidate.
Meantime, Anvar told media yesterday evening that he had never said anywhere that he would not support UDF candidate Aryadan Shoukath. However, Anvar had clarified that Shoukath has no chance of winning and that he resigned not for the latter to become an MLA. Anwar also asked who in the UDF would take responsibility if loses the election.
Anvar's condition before the Congress was to announce his entry into the front by informing the public. Anvar's stance yesterday was that if the UDF does not allow Trinamool Congress’ entry, will contest in Nilambur. Anvar also raised harsh allegations against opposition leader V D Satheesan. Anvar had also said that he has no faith in some leaders of the UDF.
