Defeat of K Muraleedharan: DCC chief and UDF chairman resign after emotional scenes

THRISSUR: DCC president Jose Valloor has resigned following the controversies related to the defeat of UDF candidate K Muraleedharan in the Lok Sabha elections. A group of activists had hosted a reception for Jose Valloor on his return from Delhi, at the DCC office. This led to a tension again. Soon, Jose Valloor announced his resignation at the DCC board meeting. MP Vincent also announced his resignation from the UDF Chairman post.

Following the resignation of the leaders, emotional scenes were witnessed in the DCC office. A section of the activists came forward supporting Jose Valloor. Women activists were seen crying. The activists claimed that Josettan can never be blamed for the defeat.

After the defeat of K Muraleedharan, posters were seen in front of the DCC office. The posters were put up in solidarity with Jose Valloor. The poster said Jose Valloor should not be sacrificed to protect the real culprits of the election defeat. The activists had organized a poster campaign against Jose Valloor.
