THRISSUR: BJP state president K Surendran dismissed allegations linking him and the BJP to the Kodakara hawala case, stating that without evidence, such accusations hold no merit. Addressing the media in Thrissur, Surendran highlighted that he faces charges in 346 cases but has consistently cooperated with the law.
Surendran emphasized the need for credible evidence before central agencies can investigate the case. He also dismissed recent remarks made by UDF candidate Rahul Mamgoottathil, calling him a “fake” and asserting that he is well aware of those orchestrating the accusations.
Rahul Mamgoottathil, the UDF candidate from Palakkad, recently claimed a "race" between the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Kerala Police to shield Surendran in the hawala case. Citing alleged divisions within the BJP, he questioned the party’s stance, suggesting the involvement of a covert agreement between CPM and BJP to render the Palakkad party symbol ineffective in the Kodakara constituency. Rahul Mamgoottathil challenged Surendran’s authority, speculating on his influence within the BJP and proposing further scrutiny if the allegations prove true.
