'Don't bring Mukesh's case to justify Rahul, cinema industry is different', says CPM leader E P Jayarajan

KOCHI: CPM leader EP Jayarajan criticised those who justified Palakkad MLA Rahul Mamkootathil, who is facing charges for sexual assault. Jayarajan said Congress was implicitly supporting Rahul, thereby justifying his heinous conduct.

E P Jayarajan:

"Don't these people justifying Rahul have women folks at their homes? K Sudhakaran and other leaders are not echoing the same sentiments as opposition leader V S Satheesan. How can people justify such crimes? Congress is in such a dire state that they are not even able to take strong action. Rahul possesses personality flaws that nobody should ever have”

When asked about similar sexual assault charges faced by LDF MLA Mukesh:

“That happened a long time ago. Cinema and politics are different. Cinema is a different domain, and they have their own way. An investigation was conducted when a complaint was filed against Mukesh. Bringing Mukesh's name to justify Rahul is deplorable”
