PALAKKAD: BJP state committee member Sandeep Warrier has denied the news of leaving the BJP and holding talks with the CPM. He told a private television channel that he had not held any talks. However, when asked if he has any dissatisfaction in the party, Sandeep was not ready to give a clear answer. He said that he is active with the ordinary workers of his hometown.
Sandeep Warrier was not given a seat on the stage at the election convention held in Palakkad the other day. There were reports that he left the stage expressing dissatisfaction over it. Along with this, there were reports that many BJP leaders spoke very badly and rudely to Sandeep. After the incidents at the convention, he was not active in the by-election campaign in Palakkad. Meanwhile, there were news that Sandeep had held talks with some CPM leaders.
However, BJP candidate C Krishnakumar's response was that there are no problems within the party. It was speculated earlier that there were differences of opinion between Krishnakumar and Sandeep Warrier. Absence of Sandeep Warrier from election campaign is expected to significantly affect the BJP's chances of victory. It was Sandeep Warrier who released the letter that CPM leader and former chairman MS Gopalakrishnan sent to the then BJP district president T Chandrasekharan seeking support in the 1991 Palakkad Municipal Chairman election.
