THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala came forward responding to NSS general secretary Sukumaran Nair’s criticism. The congress party nurtured me and offered me posts and for the past 45 years had only uplifted the secular stance of the congress in public and personal lives, said Chennithala.
Chennithala said that his responsibility is only to the congress party. While talking to the media in the capital city, he said that he does not want to reply to Nair’s statement.
His words
‘The Congress party always lifts atop a secular stand. For the past 45 years, I have maintained that secular stance in public and personal lives. No going back from it. The Congress party nurtured me and offered me posts. My biggest responsibility is to the party. I don't want to respond to what Sukumaran Nair said."
Sukumaran Nair criticized opposition leader V D Satheesan and Ramesh Chennithala in an interview given to an English daily. The community will not forgive Satheesan. Satheesan's statement that political leaders lie down when community leaders ask them to sit, is an insult to the community. Ramesh Chennithala and Satheesan are birds of the same feather. Nair's criticism was that the UDF lost assembly polls because Chennithala was projected.
