'A woman's enemy is often another woman, they made sure that I lost opportunities'; actress opens up about bad experiences she had with her colleagues

Serial actress and social media influencer Amrutha has opened up about the bad experiences that she had with some of her colleagues and friends. In an interview with a YouTube channel, she said that some of those whom she considered her closest friends had spoken badly about her. She also said that she had faced several financial issues at one point.

"I entered the acting field after participating in auditions. I did not know anything about shooting. One day, I laughed out loud while shooting a scene. There were big stars around, and someone from the associate team rebuked me by using bad words in front of them. I was even denied opportunities saying that I am not beautiful.

I did not have many friends while studying. However, I made many friends after coming to the acting field and all of them were girls. Eventually, the circle became smaller. From my experience, a woman’s enemy is often another woman. Some people don't like it when someone close to them achieves growth. It was my friends who tormented me the most. They are the ones who made me lose opportunities and spread bad things about me. But I don’t take any of that seriously. I have acted with them again.

My mother raised both my brother and me single-handedly. She went through a lot of hardships. A woman can live alone, but it is the society that brings her down. Recently, didn’t a mother and her two children commit suicide by jumping in front of a train? Once, my mother also stood in front of a railway track and told us that we could do the same. Despite financial difficulties, no one helped us. I missed out on many events just because we didn’t have a car. Some friends even refused to give me a lift," Amrutha said.
