THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Actor Mohanlal praised the parents of ten-month-old Alin Sherin Abraham for giving consent to donate organs despite going through a hard time. Alin, seriously injured in a car accident near Thiruvalla, was declared brain dead by doctors while undergoing treatment on February 13th. Despite the time of bereavement, the parents agreed to donate the organs of the toddler.

“Alin Sherin, a little angel, left this world, giving hope of rebirth to some other children. Parents Arun and Sherin, who decided to donate Alin's organs, have become the greatest examples of human love. This world exists beautifully because of the light of selfless love like this. Alin will live not only in the memories of her loved ones but also in the hearts of crores of people.” Mohanlal wrote on Facebook.

Alin's liver was transplanted to a six-month-old baby at KIMS. The kidneys were also transplanted to a child undergoing treatment at the Pediatric Nephrology Ward of Thiruvananthapuram Medical College SAT Hospital. The heart valve was delivered to Sree Chitra Institute. This is the first time in the history of Kerala that organs from a ten-month-old baby have been donated.
