'Giving up religion, no more hijab'; Jasna Salim makes big decision

Jasna Salim, a Muslim woman from Kerala who rose to fame after gifting PM Modi with a lord Krishna painting, is back again in the news. Jasna, who is esoteric in Lord Krishna paintings gifted PM Modi with one of her acrylic works during the latter’s visit to the revered Guruvayur temple.

Recently, Jasna has been at the receiving end of various criticisms and controversies after she was caught filming a video near the sanctum sanctorum in Guruvayur temple. In the latest, Jasna came on her social media to say that she has renounced her religion.

“Till now I was known as Jasna Salim. I have decided to give up my religion and would love to be known as a human. There is no point in wearing a hijab anymore.” Said Jasna.

The police had recently registered a case against Jasna Salim, who had filmed a video in Guruvayur temple in violation of the High Court order. The FIR states that she took a video while offering garlands to the Krishna idol on Guruvayur's East Side. The Devaswom Board filed a complaint against the video being circulated on social media.

After receiving the petition, the High Court imposed restrictions on videography at the Nadapanthal of the Guruvayur temple.
