KPCC president K Sudhakaran has announced that the construction of the house promised by the KPCC to Adimaly native Mariyakutty, who staged a protest against the government over the delay in the disbursal of welfare pension, has been completed. In his Facebook post, Sudhakaran wrote that while the CPM tried to ruin the life of Mariyakutty, the Congress decided to hold her close by building a new home for her.
Sudhakaran will hand over the key to the new house to Mariyakutty on July 12. The new house was constructed after demolishing Mariyakutty's old house. KPCC Vice President VP Sajeendran and Dean Kuriakose MP laid the foundation stone for the house in January this year.
'Mariyakutty is a symbol. A symbol of the common man hunted by the criminal party CPM. Social security pensions were introduced by the Congress as the right of the poor in this state. However, Pinarayi Vijayan's government declared in the court that pension is not a right but a charity. The CPM not only made such announcements but also tried to insult poor people like Mariyakutty by spreading false stories,' he wrote.
'CPM fabricated obscene stories in social media about this old woman. They also portrayed her as extremely wealthy. While the CPM tried to ruin her life for protesting against the government, the Indian National Congress decided to hold her close. The construction of the new house promised to Mariyakutty is now complete,' he added.
