The current star on Chinese social media is a man who has been constantly taking care of his wife, who has lost her sight for more than a decade. Chinese social media has praised the man as the most devoted husband. The heartwarming story of 39-year-old Li Juxin and his wife Zhang Xiying is an example for the world.

Li, who runs a car repair shop in Qingdao, southern Shandong province, married Zhang Xiying in 2008. The couple had a daughter. They lived a happy and normal life until Zhang was diagnosed with a serious eye disease in 2013. They spent half a million yuan (about 70,000 US dollars) on treatment.

Zhang lost her sight completely in June 2014. “I couldn’t see anything. I couldn’t see my daughter,” Zhang described the extreme grief as a transition from heaven to hell. At that moment, her husband comforted her and assured her that he would always be with her in the future.

Li took Zhang with him wherever she went. Relatives also came to their house to comfort Zhang. Slowly, through Li’s efforts, she began to do daily activities independently and even returned to cooking and making dumplings.
