MEPPADI (WAYANAD): 'Dear friends, this is our Kuttis Radio- 150.34. Today we are starting the broadcast with things you need to know. When Abhirudra of Meppadi Government Higher Secondary School says this, the whole school listens with tears. Her 65 cents of the farmland and house were washed away in the Chooralmala Meppadi landslide disaster. The landslide swallowed up her grandfather and grandmother. Father, mother and siblings miraculously escaped along with Abhirudra. Aditi Krishna, Aaradhya Krishna, Adithyan, Muhammad Shahil, Suraj and Anushree, who were also victims of this disaster, are also radio jockeys. They too got active in this along with other children.
"The children love it very much. The success of Kuttis Radio is the active participation of everyone," said Ardra from the group. This initiative is under the leadership of the Meppadi Government Higher Secondary School Arts Club and the Student Police Cadet. Programs presented by teachers are also broadcast. The broadcast is from Monday to Thursday from 1.30 pm to 1.45 pm.
Initially, the Radio show was recorded on a mobile phone. Noticing this, expatriate sound engineer Sanoop Hridayanath bought a voice recorder and gave it to him. Along with news, entertainment programs are also included. Teachers Subhash Poonath and Padmashri P.S. are leading the program.
