Girls in school uniform consume liquor in bus; video goes viral

CHENNAI: The video of school students drinking alcohol in a moving bus has gone viral on social media. The incident took place in Tamil Nadu’s Chengalpattu district.

The video shows a group of girls and boys in school uniforms consuming beer. The students are seen opening and drinking a bottle of beer and later exchanging it. All the students are believed to be from a government school in Chengalpattu. The incident occurred on March 22.

The students were on a bus from Thirukazhukundram to Thachur. One of the girls, who got on the bus, took a beer bottle from her bag, opened it and started drinking. On seeing this, other girls also took the bottle and drank from it. The girls began to shout when other passengers questioned their behaviour.

The district education official has said that the matter was taken into consideration and the police are conducting an enquiry. Once the investigation is completed, appropriate action will be taken against the students, said the officials.
