SYDNEY: A 16-year-old girl died after mauled by a shark. The incident happened on Sunday in the Swan River in Perth, capital of Western Australia. After the shark attacked her, she was pulled from the river with serious injuries and died on the spot.
The girl had jumped off a jet ski to swim with the dolphins in the river when the shark attacked her. The incident happened in an area where sharks usually do not reach the river. This incident was reported after a 13-year-old boy was killed by a shark in 1923.
The last fatal shark attack in Western Australian waters was in November 2021 when a 57-year-old man was killed by a great white shark at Perth's Port Beach.
