Chintha Jerome courts yet another controversy in name of ‘star hotel’

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Youth Commission chairperson Chintha Jerome has courted yet another controversy in the name of a star hotel. A complaint was lodged by the youth congress demanding to examine her financial source after she along with her family had stayed in a four-star hotel in Kollam for one-and-a-half years.

Chintha with her family had stayed in the three-room apartment in a four-star hotel at Thangassery in Kollam after paying Rs 8500 on a daily basis. The Youth Congress alleged that she paid Rs 38 lakh as bill. How did she get so much money? All these things including her financial source should be examined. Pointing all these, youth congress state secretary Vishnu Sunil Pandalam has filed a complaint with the vigilance and enforcement directorate.

Chintha has agreed to have stayed in the four-star hotel for one-and-a-half years during 2021-22. However, her explanation is that she stayed in the hotel for her mother's Ayurvedic treatment. She said that she paid only Rs 20,000 as rent and not the amount mentioned by the youth congress.
