THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM MLA M Mukesh on Tuesday said that art and literature are weapons to effectively fight fascism and that the success of the film 'Pathaan', which was opposed by the Sangh Parivar is an example of this. Mukesh said this in the assembly while speaking in favour of the state budget.
"The central government's approach is to suppress all voices against it. The country is in a state of undeclared emergency. Finance Minister KN Balagopal has presented a realistic budget despite the Centre suffocating the state. 60 PSUs became profitable after this government came to power in the state. The government announced a Rs 30 crore package to revive the cashew sector. The government has given adequate consideration to the modernization of Kollam port," Mukesh said.
