THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The CPM state secretariat said in a statement that the allegations of the central ministers are revenge against Kerala, which is moving forward with alternative policies. "It was in Karnataka that Union Home Minister Amit Shah made the statement 'be careful, Kerala is nearby'. This is an insult to the people of Kerala. Amit Shah should clarify whether this statement is due to Kerala's lack of leadership in education, health, law and order, decentralization of power and life indicators, or is this statement due to the fact that Kerala is moving forward by upholding secularism while the Sangh Parivar attacks the minorities nationwide", the statement reads.

"The Union Finance Minister is trying to fool people by saying things that are contrary to the facts without giving the resources it deserves. Correspondence between the central and state governments clearly states that Kerala is submitting all GST-related figures correctly."

"Borrowing by financial institutions such as KIFB has been credited by the Centre to the state government's account. Even a company formed to provide social welfare pension is hampered. Kerala has lost about Rs 40,000 crore due to central intervention. These measures are part of a move to subvert welfare schemes. There is no borrowing limit for the Centre. The position is that states should not borrow even for their legitimate needs. The central government is destroying the development possibilities of the states. The Union Finance Minister has come out with reasonings without considering the demand of the states seeking GST compensation for another five years."

"UDF stand should be clear about the statements against Kerala. The people will be mobilized to face the Sangh Parivar movements which are destroying the progress of Kerala.", the CPM statement reads.
