THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Chief Minister has sent a letter to the Governor asking him to sign the eight bills which have been withheld in the Raj Bhavan after being passed by the Assembly. After reading the letter, the governor summoned all the bills and instructed the officials to keep them safely in the Raj Bhavan. The governor, who went to Chennai yesterday evening, will return on February 23rd.

Although the governor had said that he would send the amendment bill to remove the Governor from the post of Chancellor of the Universities to the President, the officials have not received any such instruction. The governor had also said that those above him will decide on this bill. The governor has signed 14 of the 17 bills passed in the last legislative session. The Motor Transport Workers Welfare Fund (Amendment) Bill and the Cashew Nut Factories (Acquisition) Amendment Bill have been sent for the consideration of the President.
