THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The youth congress gave a written complaint to the governor asking to oust Chintha Jerome from the chairperson seat of the Kerala youth commission. The sudden act was after the congress workers discerned about Jerome continuing in service even after the term limits and doing no real work but minting money.

It was in 2016 October that Chintha assumed office as the chairperson of the Kerala Youth commission. The term is for three years. According to the Youth commission act, a chairperson can maximum serve for two terms which is six years. However, Chintha is entering her seventh year as the chairperson and the accusations directed say she is serving even the grace period to get more money and is hesitant and snobbish to leave the big seat.

Chintha was tangled in a web of controversy. Earlier, a youth congress worker Vishnu Sunil made many accusations against Chintha which ended up with him receiving death threats. The current move from the youth congress is one indicating about the congress going no back in its protest against the chairperson.
