PATNA: Bihar Chief Minister and Janata Dal leader Nitish Kumar has once again urged opposition parties including Congress to join hands to defeat BJP in 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Speaking at the 11th General Convention of CPI(M) organized in Patna, Nitish Kumar said that a 'united front' can keep BJP's seat level below 100.

The function was attended by several opposition parties, including the Congress. Nitish Kumar's deputy Tejashwi Yadav, Congress leader Salman Khurshid and former Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi were present on the occasion.

"I want you people (Congress) to take a quick decision. If they take my suggestion & fight together, they (BJP) will go below 100 seats, but if they don't take my suggestion, you know what will happen", Nitish Kumar said.

"My only ambition is to unite the country and set it free from people spreading hatred. I really don't want anything. We will stand with you," he added.

After forming a new government with the RJD, Nitish Kumar is planning to defeat the BJP in the 2024 elections. As part of this, he tried many times to form an alliance with the opposition parties. He had also said last year that if the opposition parties join hands, they can win the upcoming Lok Sabha elections with a huge majority.

Meanwhile, parties including the BJP are preparing for the 2024 elections. The incumbent BJP is trying to remain power for another term-the third time in a row.
