The biggest feature of the tusker named Irinjadappilly is that it is a robotic elephant. A robotic elephant is set to be installed at Irinjadappilly Sri Krishna Temple in Iringalakuda.
The construction cost of the robotic elephant, which is donated by devotees, is Rs 5 lakh. On the 26th of this month, Irinjadappilly Raman will be installed in the Kalletumkara Irinjadappilly Sri Krishna Temple near Irinjalakuda. The elephant is made of rubber outside an iron frame. The elephant's head, eyes, mouth, and ears work with the help of electricity. These are always made to move. It took two months to complete the construction
The sculptors of the tusker are Prashanth, Jinesh, Robin, and Santo of Four He Arts, Panambilly College Road, Chalakudy Potta; who made the robotic tusker at the Dubai Festival. Movements are done by motors. Everything except the trunk is powered by a motor. The trunk is designed in such a way that mahout can control it. When switched on, water will be sprayed from the trunk. This is the first time that such an elephant is installed in temples. In the procession after Kalabhabhishekam, Irinjadappilly Raman will bear the thidambu.
