THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Vigilance Director Manoj Abraham said that the agents are becoming the middlemen in CM’s relief fund scam. He said the agents had committed fraud and there was an organized effort behind it. “Files up to two years ago were examined. More files will have to be checked.”, he said.
Manoj Abraham said that the operation CMDRF was conducted on the basis of the complaints received by the vigilance. “Complaints were received from the government. The flash raid was conducted on this basis. Irregularities have been found in almost all districts. An investigation is underway as to how the fraud was committed.”, Manoj Abraham added.
Leader of Opposition VD Satheesan said that the irregularity in the Chief Minister's relief fund is shocking. “It is like ants eating way ember. There should be a special investigation team, otherwise it will be like flood fund scam case. The money that was even donated by children from their piggy banks was also lost. The assistance is sanctioned by the Chief Minister's office. The role of CPM will be clear if the investigation is done. This is the result of protecting party members involved in flood relief fund scam. The opposition will also monitor the relief fund scam probe. No one will be allowed to escape.”, said VD Satheeshan.
Meanwhile, Ramesh Chennithala responded that the vigilance investigation in the relief fund scam was insufficient. “A team should be appointed for detailed investigation. When we pointed out the flood relief fund scam, we were mocked and the accused were protected.”, alleged Chennithala.
