Youth Congress leader says he received threat for filing complaint against Chintha; High Court directs to ensure police protection

KOCHI: The Kerala High Court directed the police to ensure protection for Youth Congress leader Vishnu Sunil Pandalam, who filed a complaint against State Youth Commission chairperson Chintha Jerome. Vishnu Sunil is the state general secretary of the Youth Congress. The High Court issued the interim order on a petition filed by Vishnu alleging that there was a threat to life from Chintha Jerome and the resort owner.

The court directed the Kottiyam SHO to ensure police protection till Monday afternoon. The court also sought the government's stand on Vishnu's petition. Vishnu had lodged a complaint with ED and Vigilance alleging that Chintha Jerome had illegally stayed at a resort in Thangassery. Later, Vishnu complained to the police stating that he received death threats from Chintha and the resort owner. In his complaint, Vishnu said that he received threatening messages from the number of the resort owner.
