Brahmapuram fire; Collector announces holiday for educational institutions in Kochi on Tuesday

KOCHI: Ernakulam District Collector has announced a holiday for educational institutions in Kochi on Tuesday in the wake of the fire in the Brahmapuram waste plant. District Collector Renu Raj announced the holiday as a health precaution due to the spread of smoke. Similar to Monday, the holiday will be applicable to students from classes I to VII. Tuesday will be a holiday for anganwadis, kindergarten and daycare centers as well. Meanwhile, there is no change in the public examinations scheduled for tomorrow.

The holiday is applicable for government, aided, unaided, CBSE and ICSE schools in the local bodies of Vadavucode - Puthenkurish Gram Panchayat, Kizhakkambalam Gram Panchayat, Kunnathunad Gram Panchayat, Thrikkakara Municipality, Thripunithura Municipality, Maradu Municipality and Kochi Municipal Corporation.
