KOCHI: Justice Devan Ramachandran has written to the Chief Justice of the High Court seeking immediate intervention in Kochi city as the city is engulfed in toxic fumes due to the fire at the Brahmapuram waste plant.
Kochi city has been engulfed in toxic fumes for the last four days following the Brahmapuram fire. Several important parts of the city are engulfed in toxic fumes from dawn to 9 am. Justice Devan Ramachandran sought the High Court's intervention referring to this situation. He also requested the Chief Justice to make necessary arrangements. The fire broke out at the waste treatment plant in Brahmapuram on Thursday. Although the fire was put out yesterday, toxic smoke is still rising from inside the garbage dump.
