Vegetable vendor in UP receives Rs 172 crore in bank account, probe initiated

LUCKNOW: Vijay Rastogi, a vegetable vendor in UP has received Rs 172 crore in his account. The Income Tax officials have been monitoring six accounts for a long time due to unusual transactions. Based on this, the officials came in search of the vegetable vendor. But he could not explain how Rs 172 crore reached his account. He lives in a village in Maigar Raipatti area of Ghazipur district.

Vijay Rastogi said that it is not his account and it may have been opened by someone else using his documents. At the same time, it is reported that the police and income tax officials have questioned him several times. Meanwhile, an investigation has been started on those who deposited the money in Rastogi's account. For this, the IT authorities sought an explanation from the Digital Money Transfer Agency.
