THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The health condition of former chief minister and senior CPM leader V S Achuthananda remains critical. He is on ventilator. The medical board has recommended to continue dialysis. His dialysis had to be stopped twice yesterday due to his deteriorating health. All efforts are being taken to normalize his blood pressure and kidney function.
VS is undergoing treatment at the SUT Hospital in Thiruvananthapuram. The SUT hospital authorities had earlier informed that although he is responding to medicines, his blood pressure and kidney function have not returned to normal. VS was admitted to the hospital on June 23 following a heart attack. Since then, he has been undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit.
