Brahmapuram fire; schools and professional colleges to remain closed tomorrow and day after, no change in public exams

KOCHI: In the wake of the fire at the Brahmapuram waste plant, the district collector has declared a holiday for educational institutions in various areas of Kochi tomorrow and the day after. A holiday has been announced for institutions including professional colleges. The holiday is part of health precautions following the fire.

All educational institutions, including professional colleges, in Vadavucode Puthenkurish Gram Panchayat, Kizhakkambalam Gram Panchayat, Kunnathunad Gram Panchayat, Thrikkakara Municipality, Thrippunithura Municipality, Maradu Municipality and Kochi Municipal Corporation has declared holidays on March 9 and 10. The holiday will apply to Anganwadis, Kindergartens, Day Care Centers, Government, Aided, Unaided, CBSE, and ICSE schools. Public examinations including SSLC and Higher Secondary Examination remain unchanged.
