Youth drowns a day before marriage in Thrissur, incident happened while bathing with friends

THRISSUR: A 26-year-old youth drowned while bathing with his friends at Canoly canal in Kandassankadavu. The dead has been identified as Ammath Appu alias Nidhin of Kalavarcode in Desamangalam. He died at a time when his marriage was scheduled to take place tomorrow.

Nidhin along with his friends reached his friend’s house in Karikody, went to bathe after a boat ride on Canoly Canal. Although they were in the area which was not very deep, he drowned in the water. His friends said that he drowned as he developed seizure. He was immediately taken to a private hospital in Olari, but his life could not be saved. The Anthikkad police have taken further steps.
