THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Prof Ciza Thomas has responded to the show cause notice issued by the government for assuming the charge of the Technological University Vice-Chancellor without the permission of the government. Dr Ciza Thomas explained that she did not violate the law and that she assumed the position of VC as per the instructions of the Governor. She also stated that she had properly carried out the responsibility in the technical education department while holding the additional charge of VC.

The government has taken action aimed at suspending Ciza while she is about to retire on the 31st of this month. Earlier, the government had removed Sisa from the post of senior joint director in the Directorate of Technical Education. The Kerala Administrative Tribunal had issued a stay on the show-cause notice issued by the government and further proceedings thereon. The bench chaired by Justice CK Abdul Rahim has ordered the government to submit a report explaining the circumstances that led to the issuance of the notice.
