
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A woman was pushed out of a fast-moving train near Varkala on Sunday. The victim was pushed out of the general compartment of the train by a man who was reportedly in an inebriated state. The woman is reportedly in critical condition and is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Varkala. She may soon be shifted to the Medical College in Thiruvanthapuram.
As per another passenger, the man kicked the woman while she was returning after using the toilet. The kick was strong enough to send her out of the train and fall on the tracks, suffering serious injuries. He even tried to push another passenger out of the train, but didn't succeed.
The incident happened inside the Kerala Express train heading towards Thiruvananthapuram from New Delhi. The woman boarded the train from Aluva. It is reported that the Railway Protection Force arrested the culprit who pushed the women off the train. The arrested person was identified as Vellarada native Suresh Kumar. He has been taken to a medical college in Thiruvananthapuram for medical tests. More details are awaited.
