THRISSUR: Two more persons have been arrested in connection with the death of Chirakkal native Sahar (32), a private bus driver who was attacked by moral policing goons. The arrested persons are Vishnu and Vijith. The two had gone into hiding following the death of Sahar. The accused were nabbed from the Gandhipuram Corporation bus stand in Coimbatore. With this, the investigation team has arrested eight accused in the case.

After Sahar's death, the police had registered a case of murder against ten people after examining the CCTV footage of the incident. However, all the accused went absconding by then. Following this, a lookout notice was issued against them. Six of these accused were arrested by the police in the last few days. It is reported that the police are making efforts to bring back Rahul, the main accused who went abroad.

Sahar was brutally beaten by the accused at midnight on February 18. He died while undergoing treatment in the hospital. Sahar was the driver of a private bus operating service on the Thrissur-Triprayar route. He was dragged from the house of his female friend, the wife of an expat.

The moral policing goons came to question his visit and then attacked him brutally. After the incident, Sahar came home and cried out of pain. Following this, his mother and other relatives rushed him to the hospital. He was put on a ventilator when his condition got worse. He died on March 7.
