Moral policing again: Man critical after 20 locals attack questioning late night visit

KOZHIKODE: More than 20 people manhandled a man who came to visit his female friend late at night near Nadhapuram, Kozhikode. The police have arrested one neighbor Muhhamed Sali in a case that is suspected to be another moral policing stunt from the locals. Kannur, Kuthuparambu native Visakh was seriously injured in the attack and was later shifted to Kozhikode medical hospital.

The incident happened on Wednesday. According to the witness statements, the gang attacked him in front of his lady friend and her daughter. The gangs also used iron rods and hollow bricks for beating Visakh up. The police reached the spot on time and quickly shifted a blood-drenched Visakh to a nearby hospital. Muhhamed Sali has been remanded but the police are searching strong for the 19 others involved in this crime.
