EPFO shouldn't deny high PF pension: Kerala HC

KOCHI: The High Court has said that those who are getting higher Employees Provident Fund pension should not be denied their pension in the name of providing option. Justice Ziyad Rehman, in the interim order, stated that the higher pension should not be reduced to those who have been issued notices. The court heard a petition filed by a group of retired employees of Keltron, questioning the notice issued by the EPFO seeking re-option.

The petitioners pointed out that the EPFO Act was amended on September 1, 2014, after which the retirees were asked to give option again
