Govt to issue one more installment of welfare pension, Rs 1600 each to be received from Thursday

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government has granted one more installment of social security and welfare fund pension to the beneficiaries, in March. Rs 817 crore has been allocated for this. About 62 lakh people will get Rs 1600 each. The beneficiaries will start getting the amount from Thursday. The amount will reach the bank accounts of more than 26 lakh people. The pension will be handed for the others at home through cooperative banks.

The central government has to pay the central share of the National Pension Scheme to 8,46,456 people. The state has also allocated Rs 24.31 crore for this on an advance basis. This share is credited to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries through the central government's PFMS system.
