UDF march and dharna on 26 against tax policies; will not participate in the government's anniversary celebration

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: UDF convener MM Hassan announced in a press conference that a protest march and dharna will be held in front of the local self-government bodies under the leadership of UDF on April 26th against the tax robbery committed by the state government by increasing the building tax and permit fee.

Opposition leader VD Satheesan will inaugurate the strike at the state level in front of Thiruvananthapuram Corporation. Hassan said that the taxes were increased unfairly when the people were struggling due to the sharp rise in prices

Hassan also said that the UDF would stay away from the state government's second-anniversary celebrations. "The UDF Coordination Committee meeting will be held at the Cantonment House on the morning of April 27th to discuss the strike programs to be organized on that day. For the UDF in Kerala, the BJP is not a political enemy. The battle is between LDF and UDF. It is the UDF which has the support of the Christian and Muslim minorities," he said.
