LIFE mission case: ED files chargesheet, names Swapna Suresh second accused

KOCHI: The Enforcement Directorate filed the chargesheet in the famed LIFE mission foreign money embezzlement case. Former principal secretary to the chief minister, M Sivasankar was termed the first accused while Swapna Suresh was made the second. Unitac Builders managing director Santhosh Eapan is also on the accused list.

A total of 11 people are on the list. The court after studying the chargesheet will file a summons to the accused including Swapna Suresh. The HC earlier gave strong words of criticism for not arresting Swapna Suresh, who the court discerned to be equally involved in the fraud. In last week's report filed by ED, M Sivasankar was called the brain behind the scam that shook Kerala and nearly took the government to fall in the state.
