AI camera deal middleman is a retired Keltron officer

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: It is reported that the officer who worked as an intermediary for Keltron in the controversial AI camera deal, is a retired officer from the company, who was appointed to the important post of the Safe Kerala project of the MVD. He is likely to have talked to companies that were awarded sub-contracts and confirmed the deal.

He along with some high officials of the motor vehicle department held discussions with other contract companies. He came to this post on the recommendation of a top leader related to the government. His office is in Mannanthala centre of Keltron. He was also the middleman in the controversial police camera project.

At the same time, the information also came out that the total cost of the two companies that awarded sub-contracts in AI camera project was only Rs 82.87 crore and not Rs 232 crore.
