THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Notices were sent to vehicle owners for traffic violations detected by AI cameras without including the footage. As it is an awareness notice, no penalty will be imposed till the 19th. Keltron clarified that they will not include the footage of the violation when sending notices as part of awareness. The notice will state that the vehicle has violated road rules and will be fined if they continue to violate the rules.

The images of violations captured by road cameras are sent to the control room. After checking the footage on the computer and confirming that the law was violated, a warning notice will be issued to the vehicle owner. From the date the government decides to levy the fine, the staff will verify the footage and upload it to the central government's ITMS (Integrated Transport Management System) server. Motor vehicle inspectors will download and verify this data. If violations are detected, the e-challan will be sent to the server for approval. Vehicle information can be obtained from 'Vahan software'. SMS will be sent to the vehicle owner's number and the copy will go to the control room of the government. A copy of the challan will be sent by post after affixing the signatures of the officials. Up to 25 lakh challans can be sent in a month.
