KOCHI: Crucial information is out in the murder case of Athira, an employee of a super market in Angamaly, killed by her colleague Akhil. The case is being investigated by a special team led by Ernakulam Rural SP. The police believe that more information will be revealed when questioned Akhil, who has been remanded. The police will move the court seeking his custody.

The police have also decided to examine Akhil's social media account 'Akhiyettan' in detail and question those closely related to him. He has more than ten thousand followers on Instagram. Most of them are women. Akhil is believed to have borrowed money and gold from some other women like Athira. It is reported that he has borrowed almost Rs 150,000 from another woman. More clarity would be obtained on all these things only after interrogating Akhil.

After the murder, Akhil's behavior was as if nothing had happened. The day after he committed the murder, he appeared smiling and cheerful and posted a new reel on Instagram three days after the murder. Akhil had also prepared plans to avoid being caught if committed the murder. While taking Athira to Athirappilly in a car, he went to the company where they were working in Angamaly. This was done to make it appear that he was in the town itself. He also tried to hide Athira in the car without anyone seeing him while entering the shop. Akhil took the gold chain from Athira's body and pawned it in a jewellery shop in Angamaly itself.

Akhil told police that he murdered her after she asked him to return the ten sovereigns of gold, which he had borrowed from her. However, the police have not fully believed this. An investigation is going on.

Athira, who went missing a week ago from Ernakulam Kaladyi Kanjoor, was found murdered in the Athirappilly forest on Friday. Akhil of Anavetti in Idukki, killed Athira, wife of Sanal of Parakadavu in Angamanly, and then dumped her body in the forest.

The victim Athira and the accused Akhil were in a relationship for the last six months. The two were employees of the same supermarket. Akhil told police that a verbal dispute broke out over the gold he borrowed from her, and this led to the murder. An investigation showed that gold of five sovereigns have gone missing from her house.
