THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP Kerala president K Surendran said that Congress should stop blaming the electronic voting machines following its victory in Karnataka. He also said that the BJP will act as a constructive opposition by accepting the mandate of Karnataka. K Surendran also claimed that BJP was able to maintain the same level of vote percentage it got last time despite the decrease in seats.

"Whenever the Congress loses elections, they will insult EVMs, constitutional institutions and people. We can hope that the Congress will regain its faith in democracy at least now following its victory in Karnataka. Despite the loss of seats, the BJP managed to retain the 36 percent vote it got last time. However, the JD(S)'s 18 percent vote share fell to 13 percent," Surendran said.

"The Congress was able to get five percent more vote share than last time by pooling JDS and SDPI votes. Congress campaigned this time by raising Muslim reservations and PFI appeasement. They tried to create propaganda by making false allegations against the state government.BJP has failed to counter such negative propaganda. The Congress should be ready to work for the people of Karnataka and not implement the PFI agenda," Surendran added.
