17-year-old girl found hanging in religious institution

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The relatives of the 17-year-old girl, who was found hanging in a religious institution in Balaramapuram, termed the incident as mysterious. The dead is Asmiya Mol, a native of Beemapally. The police registered a case on the complaint of her relatives.

The girl was staying in the religious education centre in Balaramapuram. She was found hanging here yesterday. Her relatives alleged that she was harassed by the authorities of the institution.

The girl had called her mother yesterday afternoon and had asked her to come to the institution immediately. Though she reached the centre within one-and-a-half hours, the authorities did not permit her to see her daughter. Then came the news that she was found lying dead in the bathroom. Her mother alleged that the girl had earlier levelled a complaint against the institution.
