THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Heavy rains with lightning are expected in many parts of Kerala in the coming three days, says the Indian meteorological department. Pathanamthitta, Ernakulam, and Idukki have been placed under yellow alert after the warning from IMD.

The rains will be accompanied by wind, which will garner a speed up to 40km. From May 20 to 23, the IMd predicts decent to strong rainfalls in Kerala with lighting to add to the worry. Meanwhile, on another note, Kozhikode and Palakkad have recorded 37 degrees Celsius while Thrissur follows up with 36 degrees. The sweltering heat is expected to stay in these districts with no signs of rain.
