THRISSUR: Attacks on hotel staff by drug addicts and others in inebriated conditions are on the rise in Kerala. In Triprayar, one migrant laborer working in a hotel was brutally attacked by a gang. Now the Kerala Hotel and restaurant association are beseeching the government to act and arrest the criminals under nonbailable offenses. In a committee called for discussing the events, the Thrissur district president of the Kerala Hotel and restaurant association asked for stronger reforms from the government to curb such happenings.

The meeting was held in the KHRA hall in Thrissur. The hotel owners and committee members called for the closure of hotels in case the government shows the usual ineptness to act late on the issue.
