Plus One: Increase of 30% government seats and 20% aided seats; 81 temporary batches to continue

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A government order has been issued to increase the number of seats for Plus One by 30 percent in government schools and 20 percent in aided schools. The 81 temporary batches allotted in the previous year will also continue.

In Thiruvananthapuram, Palakkad, Kozhikode, Malappuram, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod districts, there will be a 30 percent increase in seats in all government higher secondary schools. 20 percent seat increase is in aided schools in Thiruvananthapuram, Palakkad, Kozhikode, Malappuram, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod districts. In Kollam, Ernakulam and Thrissur districts, the seat increase is 20 percent in all government and aided schools.

The Director of Public Education has been directed to allocate 10% to aided higher secondary schools which requires an increase in seats, in addition to this.

It has been decided to continue 81 batches including 18 science batches, 49 humanities, eight commerce, two science batches that were temporarily shifted, and one each of humanities and commerce batches allotted in the previous year. Kannur KKN Pariyaram Memorial School also included a temporarily allotted commerce batch.
