MALAPPURAM: NIA raids were held at Nilambur and Kondotty in the residences of people associated with the banned outfit Popular Front of India (PFI). The raid was conducted with the help of the local police.
The inspection was conducted at the house of Shareef, a resident of Nilambur's Chanthakkunnu. Some documents were seized from here. NIA also conducted an inspection at Muneer's house in Kunchathur in Kasaragod's Manjeswaram. NIA raids are going on in three states including Kerala in connection with PFI cases. Apart from Kerala, the NIA is conducting inspections in Bihar and Karnataka.
A few days ago, NIA raids were conducted in four districts of Tamil Nadu- Madurai, Chennai, Dindigul and Theni districts. Various teams of the NIA conducted searches in the houses of the persons, suspected to have criminal links, in collaboration with the Tamil Nadu Police.
At the same time, NIA conducted raids in various places in Jammu and Kashmir. The raids were linked to a conspiracy by terrorist groups operating under false names at the behest of Pakistani commanders and handlers. The raid was conducted in the districts of Srinagar, Anandnag, Kupwara, Poonch, Rajouri and Kishtwar.
