Praveshanolsavam welcomes 3.25 lakh newcomers to schools, greeted with gift packets and sweets

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Today marked the beginning of a new academic year. The teachers greeted the newcomers with gift packets and sweets. There are 3.25 lakh children in first standard out of a total of 42 lakh students. There are 15,452 schools in the entire state. Of these, 13,964 are government-aided schools.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated the state level Praveshanolsavam at Govt VHSS in Malayinkeezhu at 10 am this morning. The Praveshanolsavam song 'Minnaminunghine Pidikkalalla Jeevitham', penned by Murugan Kattakkada and composed by Vijay Karun, sung by Manjari and her team, was played in schools.

Minister Antony Raju released the academic calendar and Minister G R Anil will release handbooks 'Mathuram Malayalam', 'Ganitham Rasam' and 'Kuttikoottam'. Cleaning of schools has been completed as part of the Sanitation-Haritha Vidyalaya project.
